Bond Adams successfully secures interim child contact during a first hearing
- Bond Adams represented a parent who was seeking child contact. Our client has three children and was refused access by the resident parent.
- The Cafcass report stated that there were no safeguarding issues.
- The applicant parent had a criminal ongoing matter.
- The court initially stated that no progress could be made until the local authority had concluded their investigation and so did the police.
- Our Advocate, Rafique Patel, argued that they had a duty to seek progress even though this was only a first hearing.
- The court agreed that given the Cafcass report there were no safeguarding issues.
- Accordingly, the resident parent had to set out reasons for refusing contact. None were forthcoming.
Contact was ordered at this first hearing.
