Skilled Worker and Sportsperson Migrants – Time to Count – Changes to Immigration Law

Changes to Immigration Law 2021/2022

Throughout the current pandemic, the Home Office have published COVID-19 concessions by way of guidance. A few of these concessions are to be formally introduced into the Immigration Rules, providing more security to those affected, including Skilled Worker and Sportsperson Migrants

Between 24th January 2020 and 30th June 2020, concessions were put in place for those applying for a Skilled Worker visa. It enabled applicants to start working for their sponsor while waiting for a decision on their application. A change is being made to the settlement rules which will allow applicants to include the time they were waiting for a decision towards the five years required for settlement as a Skilled Worker or as a Tier 2 Sportsperson.

We at Bond Adams have a Business Immigration Team who deal with all legal aspects of law and continues to have a high successful rate in attaining Skilled Worker visas.
