On 1st January 2021 the UK introduced a point-based immigration system which allowed workers from outside of UK to come for work. This point-based situation allows anyone meeting the set requirements and scores enough points to be eligible for a work visa. There are many different ways to acquire a work visa via the system.
How to become a Skilled Worker?
When applying for a Skilled Visa application there a few things that a person must do in order to be eligible. They must have been offered a job in the UK as well having a certificate of sponsorship about the job they have been offered by their employer. The person must also be paid a minimum salary which is dependent on the job they do. Furthermore, their job has to be an on the list of eligible occupations.
There are plenty of jobs on the eligible occupations such as production, manufacturing, engineering, catering, management etc. Most jobs in the legal field are part of the list of eligible occupations.
Requirements for a skilled worker?
To become a skilled worker there are a few requirements that need to be met. Some are:
- Having enough money to support yourself in the UK and it be able to provide evidence for it
- Be able to have your English Language skills to a certain standard
- Provide any criminal records
